Welcome to Clever Bloom! Today I’m sharing some of my favorite go-to houseplant supplies with you. I’ve included affiliate links for your convenience.
- This Plant Velcro is perfect for connecting your plant to bamboo poles. It has a soft inside so it doesn’t damage your plant and you can cut it to any length you need, it’s awesome!
- Yellow Sticky Traps are amazing! They work really well to attract and trap all different flying insects. I mostly use them for fungus gnats but they work for white flies and others too.
- This Systemic House Plant Insect Control works really well! It protects plants from damaging bugs like Aphids, Scale, Fungus Gnats, White fly, Mealy bugs and more! It IS chemical protection, which I’m not super happy about, but I’ve continued to use it due to it’s success rate. Just follow the package exactly.
- I use this gnatnix when I have a fungus gnat infestation. I put about 1/4″ of the rock (recycled glass) on top of the soil in combination with the yellow sticky traps. The traps get the gnats and the rock prevents them from penetrating the soil and multiplying. It’s non-toxic and made in the US!
- This Haws Watering Can is very small but I like it for a few reasons. It has a removable shower spout so you can use it or not. The flow is perfect! Since all plants are on different watering schedules, you don’t always need a large can. Plus, its not heavy! They do have other sizes with the same removable shower head too if this one is too small.
- This organic potting soil is my favorite indoor soil. It’s not stinky at all (I have a crazy nose) and it’s rich worm casting!
- This pack of 5- 6″ terracotta pots is what I use for cacti/succulents and my rooted cuttings. Clay pots suck the moisture out of the soil so they’re great for desert/low moisture plants. One trick is to soak the pot in water for about 30 minutes before planting.
- I use these little glass spray bottles to mist my plants. It seems silly but I like the mist these bottles make and 2oz. is exactly the amount I need to mist all of my plants for one round. I do it 3 times per day.
- These are great glass jars for propagation. They’re skinnier than normal glass jars so the plants stay in easier. If you need some water propagation tips, check out this post!
- I use this drill bit to drill holes in pots that need drainage holes. I’ve done clay, terracotta, cement, and ceramic. It says you can do glass too but I haven’t tried that yet. This blog post will show you how to drill holes!
- Moisture Meters are not always necessary but they can be really nice in some situations. I use them for larger pots and pots that have a rock dressing on top. It basically tells you when your soil is dry. It’s a handy tool!
- These plastic pots are great for seedlings or cuttings. They’re light weight and don’t suck the moisture out of the soil.
These are just a few products I really love. I’ll do more posts as I find more products. Are there any plant supplies you can’t live without? Leave a comment and let me know!! If you have any questions about any of these items, send me a message. See you later!!
