Step One:
Repot your indoor plants with fresh soil
- Identify which plants in your collection need repotting. You can visit this blog post to identify signs of needing to be repotted.
- Repot your plant (tips here). Repot just one pot size up, no more than 2″-3″ bigger than the root system. You can also add a few inches of new soil to a plant (that may not need a full repot). Using new soil will replenish nutrients to your plant.
Step Two:
Add Insect Control to the soil
- Use Bonide Systemic Insect Control to prevent pests in and around your plants.
- Use as directed, throughout the year, to help control insects.
Step Three:
Fertilize throughout the active growing seasons
- Find a fertilizer that works best for you. I like to use a liquid/pump fertilizer like this one or this shaker one is good too!
- Stick with the same fertilizer the entire season and fertilize regularly, as directed.
These three steps will help to ensure the growth of healthy and strong plants. If you prefer a visual, take a look at the visit I had with Helen on AM Northwest. I show you exactly how to repot an indoor plant!
