My husband and the kids are way more into Halloween than I am, however, this year is a little different. We’re in the middle of a pandemic, so the kids will not be trick or treating. We decided to do a little more decorating to get in the spirit, and I wanted to show you how I decorated our coffee mug shelf. I just added a few things here and there, and voilà, a simple Halloween shelf idea. It’s still functional with just enough spooky!

Gather Halloween Supplies
You can use what you have on hand, or have fun shopping for new Halloween knick knacks. I usually try to use different textures, colors, and sizes. I also want the items to blend in a bit, so as not to be too obvious.
I used:
- A Creepy Cloth – They can find it at a dollar store or here it is on Amazon.
- Skull Heads – They can be found at a dollar store or here on Amazon.
- Skeleton Dog – We got this guy at Home Depot but here’s a similar one on Amazon.
- Skull planter – I got mine from Aloe Frost but I also like these from Amazon.
- Air Plants – It’s fun to use Air Plants as hair in the pots 🙂 You can order them here plus I have a care post here.
- Spiders – We got these at the dollar store.
- Candle Holder/Candles
- Face Pots – The terracotta guy was a gift from Mexico but the Planta Planta Etsy shop has some great ones like this.

Your shelf looks magical. On Halloween, you just need to turn off the light and light the candle. I prefer the white pot at the top of the shelf, it looks like a style ghost with short hair. You collected the worth things.
