Hey guys! Today I’m going to show you how to Make Your Own Thank You Cards. These are seriously so easy! You need very few supplies and they only take a few minutes. If you need a reminder of the reasons why you should send thank you cards, visit this post. The holidays are almost behind us and its time to start writing your cards. I always have good intentions but I’m also lazy. HA! Most of my thank you cards for the boy’s birthdays actually went out with our Christmas cards. That’s like two months later. Eeek! Better late than never! I have my friend Mary’s thank you card stamped, addressed, and ready to go in the truck…where it’s been for three weeks. She made little O the cutest handmade gifts and we just adore them. Maybe I can get her to share them on Clever Bloom some day?! Okay, anyway, let’s get to the cards.
You’ll need:
-Premade cards (or cardstock to make your own)
-A piece of scrap paper
-Scissors or Punch in desired shape
Tim is home from work for TWELVE whole days so his hands will be assisting me today. Yay! For some reason this reminds me of “Friends” when Joey finds his hand twin in Vegas. HaHaHa!!! ?This hand is your hand, this hand is my hand, oh wait that’s your hand, no wait it’s my hand!? I’m laughing so hard right now! He said “You know NASA’s gonna wanna talk to us”. Bahahahaha!!
- Cut or punch the shape you want out of the scratch paper. I punched this tag shape but you can do a heart or a star or a circle.
- Place your shape where you want it on the card and use the gold sharpie to mark around it. There are two different ways here. In the first picture he’s doing an up and down scribble motion. In the second picture he’s doing dots. If you do the dots, be sure to do a lot right around the edge so it really defines the shape.
- Lift your shape to reveal the open space. This is where you’ll write your message with the black sharpie. Some ideas are: Thank You, I love it!, You shouldn’t have, You’re too kind, Thanks, Merci, Gracias, etc.
- Write your message inside and you’re done!
These are really cute and really easy. Make a bunch at once and leave the message area blank. As different occasions come up, just add your message! I hope you have a great day and don’t forget to send out those thank you cards! Pin the photo below to your favorite craft board on Pinterest for easy access!
These are really cute but most of us don’t have handwriting as pretty as yours!
You can always use a stamp x
