Hello!\u00a0 These DIY Gold Glitter Mason Jars were a total last minute project for me.\u00a0 Sometimes the unplanned things turn out the best, am I right?\u00a0 My sweet baby girl turned ONE last week and she had a “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” themed party.\u00a0 Well, she’s not technically MINE but I care for her a few day per week so basically she’s mine.\u00a0 Ha!\u00a0 Her mommy started panicking the day before the party that she didn’t have anything for the tables.\u00a0 She also claims she doesn’t have a crafty bone in her body but I just think she hasn’t ever tried.\u00a0 (Love you Jamie!)\u00a0 ANYONE can make these.\u00a0 They’re that simple!\u00a0 I know these are all over Pinterest but\u00a0with my tips and tricks yours are\u00a0sure to\u00a0be the best!<\/p>\n

\"TheseYou can see how they sparkle!!\u00a0 I mean, they just really add some beautiful detail to an otherwise boring table, don’t they?!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

You’ll need:<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Vases or Mason Jars<\/p>\n

-Glitter (I used 3 different kinds of gold.\u00a0 A fine, medium, and large)<\/p>\n

-Modge Podge (it’s important that you get the glossy one)<\/p>\n

-Painters tape (splurging on quality tape will make a big difference)<\/p>\n

-Sponge brush<\/p>\n

Let’s get started!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"These<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u00a0Tape off your design on the jar and rub it down really well so you\u00a0don’t have\u00a0bubbles or gaps.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \"These2.\u00a0 Use the sponge brush to put a good even layer of modge podge on the\u00a0 glass.\u00a0 It won’t dry right away but do it sort of quickly.<\/p>\n

    \"These3.\u00a0 Now sprinkle your glitter.\u00a0 I used three different kinds.\u00a0 It’s important that if you want a really clean line, you use the finer (is finer a word?!) glitter towards the edges.\u00a0 I sprinkled the fine glitter around the edges and then the thick and medium in the middle.\u00a0\u00a0Then I\u00a0finished up by using the fine to fill in any empty spots.<\/p>\n

    \"These4.\u00a0 Let glitter dry completely.\u00a0 Carefully pull off the tape.\u00a0 Use your sponge brush again to paint a thin layer of glue over the glitter.\u00a0 It will hold the glitter in place.\u00a0 This is why it’s important to get the glossy modge podge.\u00a0 If it’s matte, the glitter will lose it’s sparkle an it will look super funky.\u00a0 Let glue dry completely.\u00a0 It takes about 3-4 hours to dry.<\/p>\n

    \"These<\/p>\n

    Now you’re done and you have these beautiful glittery vases!\u00a0 \u00a0It might be hard to see but I think my favorite is the triangle one!\u00a0 You can even use smaller jars\u00a0to make candle holders.\u00a0 On Pinterest I saw somebody\u00a0made some that were matte black with black glitter.\u00a0 They looked so cool maybe for Halloween or something?!<\/p>\n

    Now that the party is over, I think I’ll repurpose a few of them.\u00a0 I love them as vases but will probably only pull them out for parties as they don’t go with my year ’round d\u00e9cor.\u00a0 My friend Amanda at Burlap and Babies <\/a>did a really great tutorial on how to Make Your Own Mason Jar Dispensers<\/a>.\u00a0 I think I’ll tackle that project next!<\/p>\n
