Hello!\u00a0 Okay, I’m considering having a new “Pom Pom” category in my main menu.\u00a0 Ha!\u00a0 I mean, I can’t stop with the pom poms.\u00a0 There’s just something about them that make me happy.\u00a0 Today I’m sharing this super cute and unique Pom Pom Heart Bunting.\u00a0 I had the idea the other night so I ransacked the garage for the red yarn I knew I had.\u00a0 I found it!\u00a0 But only after finding lots of other treasures that made their way into the house.\u00a0 Uh oh!\u00a0 Don’t tell Tim.<\/p>\n

\"LearnHow sweet are these little hearts?!\u00a0 The bunting I made only has three hearts.\u00a0 Each heart requires 3 poms so when\u00a0my ADD kicked in, I couldn’t make anymore.\u00a0 Ha!\u00a0 You could also just make the hearts and lay them around the house for Valentine’s day, or maybe on the bed for your anniversary?!<\/p>\n

Let’s get started!<\/p>\n

You’ll need:<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Yarn (I used this Red Heart Super Saver in Red<\/a>)<\/p>\n

-Sharp scissors (I use this 2 pack from Singer<\/a> )<\/p>\n

-A pom pom maker or At least 3 fingers (I use these pom pom makers<\/a> but I also show you how to do it with your fingers)<\/p>\n

\"This<\/p>\n

Each heart requires 3 pom poms.\u00a0 I figured out the best ratio for each one.\u00a0 You’re welcome!\u00a0 Like I mentioned before, it’s really best to use your fingers.\u00a0 Using a pom maker is fine for the top two pom poms but the bottom one really needs to be made with your fingers.\u00a0 It just makes a better point at the bottom.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Make your first pom pom.\u00a0 Use three fingers and wrap the yarn around them 60 times.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \"This<\/p>\n

    2.\u00a0 Pull the wrapped yarn carefully off your fingers and tie another 10″ piece of yarn around in the middle and double knot it.<\/p>\n

    \"This<\/p>\n

    3.\u00a0 Cut the loops of the pom pom.<\/p>\n

    \"This<\/p>\n

    4.\u00a0 Now shape the pom with your scissors into a half ball.\u00a0 See picture.\u00a0 It doesn’t have to be perfect because you’ll do more trimming later.<\/p>\n

    \"This<\/p>\n

    5.\u00a0 Now do your second pom pom by repeating steps 1-4.\u00a0 You’ll need 2 exactly the same.<\/p>\n

    6.\u00a0 Now do your third pom pom.\u00a0 For this one wrap around three fingers 75 times.\u00a0 it will look something like this when you cut the loops.<\/p>\n

    7.\u00a0 Shape the pom pom into a cone shape.\u00a0 It doesn’t have to be perfect.<\/p>\n

    \"This<\/p>\n

    8.\u00a0 Now you’ll have two half ball shaped and one cone shaped pom poms.<\/p>\n

    9.\u00a0 Tie one of the half ball shape to the cone shape using the long ties.\u00a0 double knot it.<\/p>\n

    10.\u00a0 Now tie the other one next to the first one.\u00a0 It’s hard to explain but they just fall into place.\u00a0 You’ll see!<\/p>\n

    11.\u00a0 Now you’ll have something that looks like this.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    12.\u00a0 Start trimming and shaping into a heart!<\/p>\n

    \"This13.\u00a0 Repeat all steps to make as many as your little heart desires.<\/p>\n

    \"This<\/p>\n

    14.\u00a0 Use the long ties (still attached to heart) to tie to your bunting yarn.\u00a0 Hang first and the cut excess yarn.<\/p>\n

    I just used thumb tacks to hang it.\u00a0 I needed one on each side and one in the middle.\u00a0 I tied a few loose bows\u00a0around the thumb tacks to hide them.\u00a0 I think this turned out so cute!\u00a0 My husband laughed at it and I’m like, “Why are you laughing?!”\u00a0 he said, “It’s just funny that you actually got them to look like hearts”.\u00a0 I don’t know what that means but I’ll take it as a compliment!<\/p>\n
