Hey guys!\u00a0 Happy New Year!\u00a0 I hope everyone had a great holiday.\u00a0 Today I’m going to share with you this DIY Song Lyric Pillow that I made.\u00a0 It’s fun to make anytime but I thought it would be perfect to share right before Valentine’s day.\u00a0\u00a0 Anyone can make this!\u00a0 You don’t need good handwriting because it just doesn’t matter.\u00a0 I did mine a little more sloppy than usual.\u00a0 You need very few supplies and it doesn’t take very long.\u00a0 The hardest part is thinking about what to write.<\/p>\n

I thought of a ton of different things I wanted to write on my pillow.\u00a0 A few of my favorite songs, favorite bible verses, and poems.\u00a0 I ended up doing none of those.\u00a0 Ha!\u00a0 I did the song Tim picked for me to walk down the aisle to.\u00a0 Aww!\u00a0 So cheesy, I know but I love that he picked it out and it’s really sentimental to him.\u00a0\u00a0I looked\u00a0up the lyrics so I wouldn’t get them wrong, ha!\u00a0 Then I took my pre-washed pillow case and ironed it.\u00a0\u00a0I used my ironing board as my work station.\u00a0\u00a0You can use a piece of cardboard or something to stick inside the case.\u00a0 One, so you have a hard surface to write on\u00a0and two, so the pen doesn’t leak through to the other side.\u00a0 I used two record sleeves (Carole King-Tapestry and a random Christmas one).\u00a0 \u00a0Grab a ruler or a straight edge and just use it to guide you so you don’t slope too much when you’re writing.<\/p>\n

When I wrote it out he first time, I just did it quick and sort of sloppy so it looked like natural handwriting.\u00a0 The marker turned out a dark gray color (not black)\u00a0because there wasn’t much pressure, so I went over it again.\u00a0 Read the directions on your marker package, I let mine dry 24 hours.<\/p>\n

\"ThisYou’ll need:<\/p>\n

-A white or light color pillow case<\/a><\/p>\n

-Black fabric marker (I used this variety pack<\/a>)<\/p>\n

-Ruler or straight edge<\/p>\n

-Cardboard (or something similar to place in between the pillow case layers)<\/p>\n

-Song Lyric<\/p>\n

  1. \u00a0Iron your prewashed pillow case.<\/li>\n
  2. Place cardboard in between layers.<\/li>\n
  3. Use ruler as a guide and start writing your lyrics.<\/li>\n
  4. Touch-up where needed.<\/li>\n
  5. Follow pen instructions before washing.<\/li>\n
  6. You’re done!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    So anyone want to talk music?!\u00a0 What’s your favorite song? Band?\u00a0 Style?\u00a0 These days, there’s so much to chose from.\u00a0 I typically prefer what I guess you would call “Classic Rock”.\u00a0 My favorites tend to fall between the 60’s-80’s but seep into the 90’s a bit.\u00a0 Stevie Nicks, Rolling Stones, David Bowie,\u00a0Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, Queen, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Tom Petty…Gah, I could go on forever.\u00a0 Now I have so many different songs stuck in my head.\u00a0 HA!\u00a0 Bennie and the Jets, Go your own way, Quinn the Eskimo, Hell is for Children, Bobby McGee, Fat Bottom Girls, I love Rock in Roll, Under my Thumb, Levon.\u00a0 So many good ones!!\u00a0 Oh man, if I made a Song Lyric Pillow for each one of my favorites, we would have a giant house of pillows.\u00a0 The kids would LOVE that!\u00a0 Haha!<\/p>\n
