If so, you know all about my mount wall.\u00a0 It’s a wall I’ve created with\u00a0different epiphytes mounted on a variety of wood products.\u00a0 Epiphytes are plants that grow on other plants or trees and pull their water\/nutrition from the air, rain, and particles around them.\u00a0Mounting plants recreates their\u00a0natural environment, in a beautiful way, where they can be displayed as art. Today I’m sharing How To Care For a Mounted Plant. It’s easy and doesn’t take much time…just follow along!<\/p>\n

Once you’ve made or purchased\u00a0your own piece of living art, it’s time to take care of it and watch it thrive!\u00a0 These general instructions will help you to provide then best care for your mounted plants.<\/p>\n

CARE<\/strong><\/p>\n

LIGHT: Hang your mount on a wall in medium to bright indirect light.<\/p>\n

WATER: Soak\u00a0the whole mount (including the board) in clean room temperature water for 15-30 minutes.\u00a0 You can use a large bowl\u00a0or even your bathtub to water mounts. Pull the mount out of the water and allow to drip dry for a few hours before hanging it back on the wall. Watering frequency depends on the temp in your house and the amount of light your mount is getting. I water my mounts every 10 days or so.<\/p>\n

FERTILIZER: Use a liquid fertilizer in your soaking water every 4-6 weeks as needed in spring and summer.\u00a0 Follow\u00a0directions on the package.<\/p>\n

MAINTENANCE: As your plant grows or you see roots grow out of the moss, you can re-mount on a bigger piece of wood.\u00a0 You can also trim your plant and propagate the cutting<\/a>!<\/p>\n
