<\/p>\nHello!\u00a0 Thanks so much for visiting Clever Bloom today.\u00a0 I’m glad you’re here!\u00a0 Today we need to talk about nakedness.\u00a0 In some circumstances, naked is a good thing, right?!\u00a0 But not when we’re talking about the corner of my dining room.\u00a0 This is a corner in desperate need of something…anything.\u00a0 I did a make over on a small table of mine.\u00a0 It turned out great!\u00a0 I stuck it in that corner and put a plant on it.\u00a0 Sort of my version of “Put a bird on it”.\u00a0 Plants are really the answer to most of my problems.\u00a0 Anyway, it was beautiful and lasted for all of about 15 minutes before my 10 month old crawled over, pulled himself up and knocked the entire thing over.\u00a0 My poor beautiful plant was in ruins all over the floor!\u00a0 Okay, okay, I was worried about the baby too, he’s fine.\u00a0 So, this Floating Shelf was the answer to my dilemma.\u00a0 It’s kid proof, easy to make, and functional yet decorative.\u00a0 Perfect!<\/p>\n

What’s nice about this Floating Shelf is you can make it your own.\u00a0 Paint it, decoupage it, stain it, whatever you want.\u00a0 I left mine raw but there are so many possibilities! Okay, let’s get started.<\/p>\n
You will need:<\/em><\/p>\n – 2 pieces of wood lath\u00a0 (Home Depot had 4′ for $.35 ea)\u00a0 Try to get them as straight as possible.<\/p>\n – Saw<\/p>\n – Drill<\/p>\n – 4 screws<\/p>\n – 4 small screw eyes<\/p>\n – Hemp\/Rope\/Yarn<\/p>\n – Wood glue<\/p>\n I took step by step pictures but accidentally erased them.\u00a0 SORRY!\u00a0 Just use the main picture as a guide.<\/p>\n\n
